On Friday 7 May 2021, the TJ Swim team left the office and headed to the Thread Together warehouse in Banksmeadow, Sydney on a mission to give back. We spent the day volunteering and working with the Thread Together team to pick, pack and sort orders for vulnerable men, women and children in our community.
Thread together is a not for profit organisation that provides access to clothing for those who need it most. All clothing provided is donated by Australian fashion brands, and is brand new and has never been worn.
Thread together thrives off the help of charity partners, brand donations and volunteer work. Vulnerable men, women and children who are doing it tough are given access to clothing at no cost to them.
We support Thread Together’s belief that clothing performs a vital role in creating a better future, influencing a person's wellbeing and improving state of mind. In 2016, 2.99 million people were reported to be living below the poverty line. Meaning almost 13.3% of the population are unable to access essential clothing.
Thread Together’s work provides two crucial initiatives, providing clothing to those in need whilst also saving excess stock from reaching landfill. Alongside volunteering our time to sort clothing in the Thread Together warehouse, TJ SWIM has donated end of season stock and helped pack flood relief packages for families affected by the floods in the mid north coast of NSW.
We are so grateful to be given this opportunity to give back, support our community, make an environmental impact and make a difference to the lives of those who need it most. Alongside this, we are proudly partnered with i=Change so you can give back too! $1 from each purchase on tjswim.com is being donated to 3 life changing initiatives. You choose where!
